Garden time at the France House - 14 - 24 April

A busy week in France getting the garden back to normal after the winter, and searching for more than Easter Eggs buried in the garden! All of them found. We were blessed with wonderful weather all week so lots of outdoor time for the kiddies with plenty of butterflies, cuckoos and lizards.

 

Uzes overnighter

Spring holiday time and we had an overnight stop in the lovely Uzes on the way to the France house. Uzes is always a bit of a culinary treat but there was lots of running in the morning for Bea and Papa.

Dance dance dance

Got to take a peak at the girls dance group today as doors were open wide to the parents . . . point and flex, point and flex . .

Weekend in Florence

A few picks of our weekend in the countryside outside of Florence. Unfortunately, Ili was unwell with a stomach bug so we were grounded for most of the weekend, but by the time the school appointment came on Monday she was fine, luckily. Had time for a quick jaunt into the city — took in the sunshine outside the Basilica Santa Maria Novella and of course made time for gelato (by the duomo).

Out of hibernation

It was great to step out of winter hibernation mode today and down to the lake for some gorgeous sunshine. Lovely to spend some time with one of Ili's friends too. Bea was at a sporty 10th birthday party so it was just us girls hanging out by the lakeside and park (great climbing girls!) and eating Gelati in the sun.

Birthdays

A old selfie from my 30th birthday was spent in Rome a few moons ago (life is turning in circles). I think the picture was taken in the Orto Botanico — will have to revisit. x

Found some snow!!

The snow is fast disappearing in the mountains this year, but the children were keen to do some sledging all together before the season finishes. Unfortunately our favourite sledging route at Urnerboden was closed off when we got there (too windy to run the cable car) so we had to make do with an amble in the snow.

When in Rome!!

Icy lake walk

Ventured out in the cold today for a refreshing walk by the lake. It's sauna season and there were a few hardy folk dipping in the lake fresh from the lakeside sauna (in the nud!). Perhaps we should try it!

"100" days at school!

We had a small celebration at the school tonight, as Ili's class were marking 100 days of school. Lots of songs and dance — and considering Ili hasn't been there for many of those 100 days, she did great with learning everything in a few weeks!
