Spring hols - a night in Uzes

Left the snow behind, and packed a very full van for France (to open up Neuvic). Had our usual favourite stopover on route.

Garden - and close encounters with a fox

Ili and I had a trip to the garden today in hot sunshine but arrived to find a fox had, how should I put it, spent his last moments in our garden. Poor thing. Ili had no problem with it and was totally intrigued enjoyed taking a close up.

Bea's presentation

Bea had to give his presentation on the rainforest today in front of his class, and although he said he started a bit shaky, he got into his stride and enjoyed it. Well done wee fella xx I met him after school and we had a sugary treat in the sunshine. Weather has been beautiful the last few days, and you might just be able to see all the yachts on the lake (taken from the roof).

Getting high

I guess this must have been one the the high spots – literally – of Frith's trip to Borneo. Up in a helicopter.

Just a few random images from Papa's trip to Borneo. The big trees were planted by the team 18 years ago, so think they were happy with the growth! Think I need to move my allotment there.

Dance rehearsals together

Lovely moment of Ili joining Bea in his Friday dance group! It was the first time they got to practice together as they have a piece in the performance they are both working on where the robot (Bea) gets woken up by the ragdoll (Ili).

Sunday gardeners

A great gardening day, and I got stuck into some planting at the allotment. My oriental poppies and dahlias are in at last, and the kid's sunflowers and cucumbers sown for their veggie patches! Bea cracked on with his school project again on the rain forest before Papa goes off to the rain forests of Borneo, and both Bea and Ili were busy playing with the salamanders. Ili's phrase of the day "I think this one likes me . . . !"

Bumper to bumper

There's a tiny classic little fairground in Zürich at the moment — bumpers, big wheel, target shooting (Bea won a little soft toy for Ili). The bumper cars were the clear favourite, although Bea seemed to go backwards more than forwards! 

Not sure who was the more frightened on the big wheel!

Project work - the rain forest

Bea is currently working on his 3rd grade project — which is on the rain forest — and presents it to the rest of the class on 21 April. Here he is looking very grown up working on it at the garden! And one too of Ili in her favourite outfit of the moment.

Spring trip to the lake

Bea and Ili got to dip their toes in the lake today! Here they both are climbing up the lifeguard chair, and scouring the beach for crayfish (live) which had been washed up. Then a spot of tree climbing and daisy chain making.
