Toyshop at Midnight

Some pics from the dance event on Sunday (taken by a friend)! In essence, it's about a Toyshop where all the merchandise comes to life at midnight — Ili was one of the rag dolls who found and awoke the robots!! Bea's robotic moves were fab so I'll get some video posted soon. Ili was also a penguin (with the youngest children) and is in the final picture too in her penguin attire.

Woods morning

Had a lovely peaceful morning during Ili's (and my) very last kindergarten trip to the woods.

Stage rehearsals

Bea and Ili had their final stage rehearsal yesterday all dressed up as ragdoll and robot (Ili comes on later as a penguin too), and was really fun to see. There are so many children from the school and neighbourhood involved — Bea and Ili's group are just one among many. It's going to be a big show for the kids on Sunday!!

Paddle boarding

The weekend was lovely and warm, so time to get the children out on the water. We trialed a kid's stand-up paddleboard for Bea to see how he got on with it. You can just see Ili tucked on the front of the board with Papa.

Party and lotty

The kids' parties are big affairs at the moment, and Bea's has been to a couple these last few weeks with over-nighters, movies, bowling, bbqs and bike rides all thrown in at once. So while Bea was celebrating a friend's ninth on Saturday, it was just us three on the lotty. Not many pics, as I had my head in the flowerbeds most of the day . . .

Spot of Sunday tennis

Tried out the tennis courts down by the lakeside to try and give Bea some practice. Ili and I had a wee bash too. Handy spot for a dip in the lake afterwards too (when summer arrives).

Boules under the pines

Had to leave this lovely haven today, which was a very unwelcoming shock to the system. But will have some lovely memories of Bea playing boules in his PJs.

Walking around the Calanques

Walked out in the heat to hike around the Calanques today. Bit too steep and a bit too much heat, but we all survived to tell the tale.
