Cooling off before Bea's concert

Still swimming weather here, and I took an afternoon swim with Bea this afternoon (too cool for Ili today). Bea had his final concert of the school year tonight (youtube), and he did really really well, but stopped short of finishing the second piece as he got confused with the repeat (and then got upset and cross with himself later, poor wee thing). But, overall he was as cool as a cucumber as usual! Well done again Bea x

Swimming

Headed to the lake after school as it was the best place to cool off — Ili, Bea and I had a good swim out to the raft (Ili with armbands), and we met Frith after he came back from Montpellier.  A big electrical storm came in — we did get out of the water before the lightning struck! — and we stayed till after dark, walking back home in the warm rain! In the pic with Ili in the water, you can see Bea swimming back with a beach ball he rescued.

School birthday - 150 years old

All week the children have had a "games week" to celebrate the 150 year "birthday" of their school. Essentially, it meant each day they were involved in making games — hand-made beach ball, boules, skittles, water games, speed stacking, board games, etc — and on Friday afternoon it culminated in a big play session for the children. We left fairly early as it got too hot, and escaped to the Lake for a dip.

First days of summer

A great afternoon down by the lake, and again the kids met up with friends there, and were swimming to the rafts and diving off the high boards (Bea with friend that is — I watched on feeling anxious!). I took Ili and her friend out on the paddleboard - but foolishly, I forgot to take pictures!! Here's Bea and Ili cooling off when we got home.

Zircus Chnopf - Friday night

We've seen these guys perform in Zurich a few times now over the last couple of years, and we saw them by the lake for their premiere tonight. The kids love them and they're a mix of acrobatics and good ol' clowning around. And the rain actually stayed off!!!
