Bea's school was closed for teacher training today, and Chris's boss's youngest son, Alligan, joined us at the swimming pool in an attempt to keep him away from his garden and his birthday surprise — a treehouse! Papa was recruited to help build it and provide the practical expertise, and said it would be a good practice run for France. A solid platform was built when we came back to the garden, and the children played happily up the tree in the shade.
